Cursed Text Generator
Enter text in the input box to generate cursed, distorted versions below. The tool provides multiple cursed font styles including zalgo at three heights, fraktur, eastern, wiggly, crossed, cutout, and ancient characters, each producing a different creepy effect.
The zalgo styles stack Unicode combining marks on each letter, and the others swap each letter for a look-alike Unicode character, so you can copy and paste the result into social media posts, Discord messages, and any text field that supports Unicode.
What cursed text styles are available?
The generator includes over a dozen distorted text styles. These range from light, medium, and heavy zalgo text and Gothic-style fraktur characters to inverted squared letters, eastern-influenced scripts, wiggly Unicode characters, and ancient-looking symbols. The zalgo styles pile combining marks onto each letter, and the rest substitute other Unicode characters, to produce a unique cursed appearance. You can scroll through the output panel to preview all available styles and copy the one that fits your needs. For more decorative Unicode styles without the distortion, try the Fancy Text Generator, or the Wingdings translator and its Wingdings alphabet chart for pictograph symbols.
How does cursed text work?
The zalgo styles are created by stacking Unicode combining diacritical marks above, below, and through each base character. These combining characters were originally designed for accents and linguistic notation, but when many of them are applied to a single letter the result is a glitchy, distorted appearance that extends far beyond the normal line height. Because it uses standard Unicode rather than images or special fonts, the cursed text can be pasted into social media posts, chat messages, display names, and any other text field that supports Unicode input. If you want text that is hidden rather than distorted, generate invisible text that looks completely blank on screen.
